Michael S. Benbow, P.E. / CEO

As CEO and founding partner of M S Benbow & Associates, Michael Benbow oversees all corporate initiatives of the firm. Benbow has more than 40 years of experience in engineering, design and project management. Since founding the firm in 1978, Benbow has provided mechanical and telecommunication engineering services to refineries and clients along the Gulf Coast with integrity and reliability.

Prior to founding M S Benbow & Associates, Michael Benbow served as a project engineer for Exxon-Mobil and Shell Chemical Co. He has also worked on telecommunications projects for Freeport Chemical, Inc., P.T. Freeport Indonesia and Freeport – McMoran Resource Partners. In collaboration with Leo Holzenthal and the rest of MSB’s staff, Benbow helped develop and implement the Region One Interoperable Communications System in the New Orleans metro area, being the first region in the country to implement a project of this magnitude.

Benbow holds a BSME from Purdue University and a J.D. from Loyola University. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is registered as a Professional Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in Louisiana and Mississippi and as a Professional Control Systems Engineer in California.  Benbow is also an adjunct professor in the College of Engineering at the University of New Orleans and has taught instrumentation principles to technicians at sites such as Freeport Chemical and Dupont’s Pontchartrain Works.

Leo Holzenthal, Jr., P.E., DACFE Engineer, MSE, BSEE / President and Engineering Manager

Leo Holzenthal is responsible for managing the day to day operations at MSB and ensuring client satisfaction. Holzenthal has more than 30 years of experience as an electrical, telecommunications and control systems engineer and has managed countless projects in all phases, from design and documentation to project execution. Holzenthal has been with MSB  since 1994 and takes a hands-on approach to ensuring quality control and providing top-notch engineering services.

Hozlenthal holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Science in Engineering (EE and ME) from the University of Texas in Austin and is certified as a Registered Professional Engineer in more than a dozen states including Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.  In addition to his executive responsibilities at MSB, Hozlenthal is an adjunct professor in the College of Engineering at the University of New Orleans and has lectured at numerous universities and conferences on control systems design and special topics in telecommunications.
