MSB Executive Completes Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses Program

METAIRIE, LA. — October 15, 2018—Kelly Huben, M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) Director of Operations & Human Resources, recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (GS10KSB) program, a business and management curriculum launched to help entrepreneurs across the United States grow their businesses and create jobs. Huben participated in Cohort 20 of the GS10KSB Program operated at Delgado Community College on behalf of MSB, which is featured on the list of Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies.
Huben handles all aspects of human resources, safety policies and training, corporate contracts and negotiations as well as corporate social responsibilities for the company. She has over 30 years’ experience in Human Resources, Safety, Operations and Client Relationship Management.
“The Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program provides extensive practical experience, guidance and tools that can be put into action immediately to take businesses to the next level,” Huben said. “I am looking forward to applying this expertise to M S Benbow’s growth and development, and I am grateful to the GS10KSB faculty at Delgado for their support.”
GS10KSB has graduated more than 6,400 small businesses across the United States. Business leaders participating in the GS10KSB program spend 14 weeks—roughly 100 class hours—studying a business and management curriculum designed by Babson College and delivered by Delgado Community College faculty. The curriculum covers accounting, human resources, negotiations, and marketing, among other topics. The program also includes one-on-one business advising, financial workshops and advice from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses community partners.
Results of the program nationally have shown that 18 months after graduation nearly 74% of GS10KSB participants reported an increase in their revenues and 55% reported creating net new jobs.
During the 2018 year, M S Benbow has been recognized as one of Louisiana’s fastest growing private companies. The Louisiana Business Development (LED) and U.S. Business Administration awarded MSB with the 2018 Most Outstanding Business Growth Award. MSB also was one of 33 Louisiana companies included on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list, an exclusive list that has included companies such as Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, Intuit, Chobani and others during their rise.
