MSB Recognized for 35 years of Operations in Jefferson Parish
METAIRIE, LA—July 30, 2013—Professional engineering corporation M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) was recognized by the Jefferson Parish Council on the occasion of its 35th anniversary of providing multi-discipline engineering and consulting services in the Gulf South Region.
The Parish Council issued a proclamation acknowledging the firm “for its accomplishments in the Jefferson Parish business community and in promoting the advancement of technology in the region.” MSB is headquartered in Metairie, La., and since Hurricane Katrina has rebounded and expanded its presence in the Gulf South region with an office in Houston, Texas, and the opening in 2013 of its third office, located at 1325 West Causeway Approach, in Mandeville, La.
A full-service engineering firm, MSB is regarded as one of the top professional engineering firms in the region serving oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial, commercial and governmental clients across the Gulf South. Since its founding MSB quickly established itself as a leading design and engineering firm by developing new technologies for its petrochemical clients and soon expanding into additional industrial markets. MSB pioneered the use of computer-aided drafting, design and engineering tools for its projects. It grew into a larger consulting firm in the 1990s by expanding its mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering divisions.
MSB later started an engineering group focused on telecommunications and technology systems including fiber optic, cellular, wireless and wireline systems. Since then, it has completed more than 150 telecom projects and wireless system design/installations at facilities such as Houston Intercontinental, Dallas Fort Worth International and New Orleans International airports; the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and New Orleans Arena sports entertainment complex, American Airlines Center, East Jefferson Hospital and West Jefferson Medical Center; and the Louisiana Region One Interoperable Communications System. MSB also engineered power system designs for Eagle Ford and Bakken Shale natural gas projects, and designed computer-based process control upgrades for refineries.
