Engineering consultancy’s safety culture recognized for 7th consecutive year

NORCO, La.—(May 10, 2018)—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) received the 2018 Contractor Safety Excellence Award from the Shell Norco facility for the 7th consecutive year. MSB received the recognition and award for its commitment to safety by one of the industry’s biggest petrochemical refiners.

The award aims to promote and build a strong safety culture at the facility by recognizing and celebrating great safety performance. The Shell Contractor Safety Award recognizes the outstanding safety engineering and workforce safety performance of the multi-discipline engineering consultancy’s workforce. MSB Engineers Mentor Regional FIRST Robotics Competition Team

METAIRIE, La.–(March 26, 2018)–M S Benbow & Associates engineers served as mentors for a robotics team competing in the 27th-annual FIRST Robotics Competition Bayou Regional, a high school regional event of teams from Louisiana and Mississippi taking place March 23-24 at the Pontchartrain Center.

The FIRST Robotics Competition is a nationwide competition that teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. The program, called FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), is designed to engage students in “real world engineering” and discovery while also providing experience with project management, deductive reasoning, business planning, public speaking and working together as a team. NEW ORLEANS—(March 1, 2018)—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB), a leading design and engineering firm serving the industrial, government, institutional and energy sectors, is celebrating 40 years of continued growth as a privately owned professional engineering corporation in 2018.

MSB was founded in 1978 by Michael S. Benbow, P.E., with the mission to provide engineering, technical and project support services for the Gulf South’s growing oil and gas industry. Since that time the company has continued to broaden its capabilities and extend its reach to a wide array of industries. MSB expanded into a larger consulting firm in the ’90s, growing their electrical and instrumentation divisions, and in the early 2000’s entering the telecommunications and technology field focused on fiber optic, cellular, wireless and wireline-network technologies. MSB Participates in GNO Science & Engineering Fair (GNOSEF)

NEW ORLEANS一(March 2, 2018)一Engineering consultancy M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) took part in the 62nd-annual Greater New Orleans Science & Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) at Tulane University, sponsoring the Senior Division investigative projects category in the field of Electrical Engineering.

The GNOSEF hosted 350 students in the Region IX parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines. Entrants fall into two divisions: the Junior Division, comprised of 6th- through 8th-grade students, and the Senior Division, comprised of students in grades 9-12. Continue reading →

MSB Earns Two Awards for Consecutive No Lost Work Days, Zero Incidents

METAIRIE, La.−(May 23, 2017)−M S Benbow & Associates’ (MSB) safety record was recently recognized with two International Safety Training Council (ISTC) Safety Achievement Awards. The engineering firm was recognized for having worked eight years without an OSHA lost workday case and for sustaining a “zero” incidence rate for the third consecutive year.
