MSB’s Food and Toy Drive Brings Comfort to Local Families at Holidays

Thanksgiving Meals and Holiday Gifts Deliver Cheer to Families in Need

METAIRIE — (Dec. 31, 2019) — M S Benbow & Associates employees came together to deliver holiday joy to New Orleans families in need, adopting families to receive the bounty of the engineering consultancy’s Thanksgiving food drive and Christmas toy drive.

MSB collected items to deliver a full Thanksgiving meal to six families who are clients of Travelers Aid Society New Orleans, a nonprofit committed to helping homeless or stranded families and individuals regain a self-sufficient lifestyle. Battle for the Paddle Jambalaya Cook Off Benefits United Way of Southeast Louisiana (SELA)

CHALMETTE, LA. —(Dec. 13, 2019)—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) team members took home the championship paddle during a charity cook off at Chalmette Refining – PBF Energy benefiting the United Way of Southeast Louisiana (SELA). Team MSB was declared the winner during the 10th-annual Battle for the Paddle jambalaya cook off against more than 15 teams made up of contractors and employees at the facility.

Wireless Tank Gauging Tech Talk Offered During Showcase of Oil & Gas Innovations

METAIRIE, LA.—Dec. 3, 2019—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) engineering experts gave a technology talk on “Reliable Performance Through Wireless Tank Gauging” during LAGCOE, a biennial conference of the onshore and offshore oil/gas exploration and production industry. Presented by the nonprofit energy industry organization Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, LAGCOE is one of the world’s premiere oil and gas expositions featuring innovative equipment, services, technology, and presentations from worldwide leaders. The 2019 expo was the first show held in New Orleans since its founding in Lafayette 64 years ago, and the city also is scheduled to host LAGCOE 2021. Continue reading

MSB Teams with Bienville Capital to Pitch in to Fight Hunger

METAIRIE, LA. — (November 26, 2019) — M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) employees teamed with Bienville Capital in volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank to help fight hunger in Southeast Louisiana. The volunteer group worked in Second Harvest’s Harahan-area facility to help package retailer food donations for distribution to families in need.

MSB Team Participates in United Way of St. Charles Parish Cook-Off

METAIRIE, LA. — (October 23, 2019)— M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) returned for the fourth consecutive year to compete in the 2019 Battle for the Paddle Jambalaya and Gumbo Cook-Off benefiting the United Way of St. Charles Parish. The Battle for the Paddle is held each fall to kick off the annual fundraising campaign for the United Way of St. Charles and to raise awareness for the organization’s service to this community.

MSB faced off against 25 other family and industry teams competing for the titles of “Best Jambalaya” and “Best Gumbo” during the 18th-annual charity cook-off. MSB Names John C. Carter, III, Electrical Engineering Department Manager

METAIRIE, LA.—(Oct. 10, 2019)—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) has appointed John C. Carter, III, P.E., P.M.P., manager of the firm’s Electrical Engineering Department. With over 25 years in supervisory, project management and engineering experience, Carter has provided technical leadership over large, multi-site design projects undertaken to improve the reliability of off-site and on-site power systems.

Carter has worked nationally with clients on electrical power studies, electrical maintenance, electrical risk mitigation and cyber security. His background includes high-profile design projects in the energy sector encompassing generator excitation, voltage regulation, fuel oil storage, transformer replacements, control system digital upgrades, protective relaying and diesel generators. Among his experience, he was project engineer for a $600 million medium-voltage nuclear substation construction project and supervised a team of 10 design engineers implementing a condensor retube nuclear safety project.

This program aims to help youth make connections and acquire long-term employment opportunities with local companies in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. METAIRIE, La.–(July 2, 2019)–M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) was recognized for the fifth-consecutive year with two International Safety Training Council (ISTC) Safety Achievement Awards during the council’s 23nd annual Safety Excellence Training Award Banquet. MSB received a Safety Achievement Award for Years Worked for achieving ten years worked without an OSHA lost workday incident and a Safety Achievement Award for Sustained Achievement for sustaining a “zero” incidence rate for the third-consecutive year.
