New Orleans-based engineering consultancy promotes Scott Stewart, PMP, CSSBB
METAIRIE, La.−(February 19, 2018)−Scott N. Stewart, PMP, CSSBB, has been promoted to Project Controls Department Manager for New Orleans-based engineering consultancy M S Benbow & Associates. The position is dedicated to streamlining project planning, development and implementation for one of the Gulf South’s most versatile multi-discipline engineering corporations.
Stewart, who has over 15 years of major technical project, program and operations management experience, joined MSB in 2016 as Portfolio Manager and Senior Project Manager for electrical engineering projects.
Project Controls Manager
Stewart began his career as a submarine warfare officer in the U.S Navy where he was certified as a naval nuclear engineer and earned the rank of Lieutenant Commander before transitioning into the engineering consulting industry in 2014.
“Scott brings exceptional expertise in implementing project controls processes that improve efficiency and quality of operations to his position heading M S Benbow’s Project Controls Department,” said MSB President Leo Holzenthal, Jr., PE.
The Project Controls Manager is responsible for site project controls, including developing and monitoring cost forecasts, coordinating resource allocations, tracking project progress, and updating and analyzing MSB workloads and schedules to meet project goals.
His Naval career includes Program Manager, Project Manager, Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager experience serving on U.S. Navy submarines and as Senior Instructor and Division Director at the Naval Nuclear Power School. He transitioned from active duty as Lieutenant Commander and Operations Manager for Naval Special Warfare Group THREE, where he developed manpower, facilities and platform relocation for special operations units; oversaw an $18 million historic facility renovation; and co-authored strategy for all undersea special warfare operations to meet challenges of the future.
He earned a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., and a Master’s degree in Management and graduate certificate in Corporate Sustainability and Innovation from Harvard University. Stewart is a graduate of the Leadership St. Tammany Class of 2016.
