MSB’s Food and Toy Drive Brings Comfort to Local Families at Holidays
Thanksgiving Meals and Holiday Gifts Deliver Cheer to Families in Need
METAIRIE — (Dec. 31, 2019) — M S Benbow & Associates employees came together to deliver holiday joy to New Orleans families in need, adopting families to receive the bounty of the engineering consultancy’s Thanksgiving food drive and Christmas toy drive.
MSB collected items to deliver a full Thanksgiving meal to six families who are clients of Travelers Aid Society New Orleans, a nonprofit committed to helping homeless or stranded families and individuals regain a self-sufficient lifestyle. Employees provided donations, which included turkeys, stuffing, side dishes, desserts, gift cards, and cooking and serving supplies.
Travelers Aid Society provides emergency assistance, crisis services and extended case management focused on long-term needs such as employment, transitional or permanent housing, and other services to help people regain independence and stability.
The toy drive collected everything on the wish lists of four children ages 17 months to 8 years old served by CASA Jefferson Parish. The agency provides court-appointed advocacy and support for abused and neglected children to help establish safe, permanent and nurturing homes for children living in foster care, whether reunited with their parents or relatives or with their adoptive families.
“The holiday season is an important time to express gratitude and create memories, and we hope our efforts helped make the holidays a little brighter for those who are less fortunate,” said MSB President Leo Holzenthal, Jr., P.E. “Giving back is part of our company culture, and we are always touched by the enthusiasm and generosity of our employees in contributing to our community.”
