CBRS spectrum will expand InBuilding, Public Space & Industrial IoT wireless coverage
METAIRIE, LA.—(May 8, 2020)—M S Benbow & Associates (MSB), a leading telecommunications engineering provider in large public venues, manufacturing, and sports and entertainment complexes, has joined the CBRS Alliance. CBRS is an industry organization made up of companies dedicated to the development and adoption of LTE solutions and deployment of 3.5 GHz CBRS-based enterprise cellular networks.
The 100-plus member organization is focused on driving development of OnGo™ shared spectrum solutions to deliver inbuilding and outdoor coverage and capacity in a variety of real-world environments.
Often referred to as the “innovation band” because it is the first attempt to share spectrum among incumbent federal and non-federal users as well as general authorized commercial users, CBRS offers a broad range of use cases to expand network capacity and provide high-power, reliable communications that meet wireless demands. The FCC recently authorized full commercial access to OnGo service in the 3.5 GHz CBRS band, marking the nation’s first commercially available mid-band 5G spectrum.
As new members of the alliance, MSB will be at the forefront of identifying development of technical specifications and troubleshooting deployment complexities in the field of shared spectrum.
